Contemporary French Music Concert Takes Place with Support of METROPOL Group of Companies at Moscow Conservatory
The first concert of contemporary French music from the series
“Spectra of Time. French Music Today” took place in the Rakhmaninov
Hall of the P. I. Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory on 12
September 2012. The concert was held with the assistance of
METROPOL Group of Companies and with the participation of the
French-Russian Dialogue Association and French Institute in
Moscow.
A.O. Rodzyanko, Chief Executive Officer of IFC METROPOL, greeted
the audience and noted the importance of French-Russian cultural
relations, stressing that the company has always been striving to
support educational activities.
The concert series includes three art sessions with major French
composers. Composer Philippe Leroux was the first to please the
Moscow audience with his works. During the preparation of the
concert he held several master classes for students at the Moscow
Conservatory.
Philippe Leroux is one of the most famous composers of our time. It
is much simpler to name ensembles and orchestras that have never
played his compositions than those whose repertoire contains
Leroux’s music. In Russia, Leroux’s music is less known, and his
concert has become a major music event not only for Moscow, but for
entire Russia.
