The Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation registered the charitable fund of support of Navy "CRUISER "Varyag"
Its unique promoter became IFC METROPOL. The basic purposes of
the Fund are formation on the basis of voluntary payments of
property and its use on:
- Support of Navy;
-Assistance activity in sphere of education, science, culture and
art;
-Assistance to patriotic education of youth;
-Protection and restoration of buildings, constructions, objects
and territories having historical, cult, cultural and nature
protection value;
-Social support and protection of citizens.
The president of the Fund became General Director of IFC "METROPOL"
M.V. Slipenchuk. Into the Trustee council of the Fund have entered:
the alderman of Saint-Danilov monastery archimandrite Alexiy; the
adviser of the administration of Plenipotentiary of the President
of the Russian Federation in TSFO M.B.Budnevich; the assistant to
Plenipotentiary of the President of Russia in CFD A.G.Gromov;
political observer of TV channel Russia A.G. Denisov; the assistant
to the commander-in-chief of the Navy of Russia, captain of t he
1st rank I.V. Dygalo; rear-admiral of the Navy of Russia
M.J.Kuznetsov; the National actor of Russia V.B.Livanov; the
General Director of Open Society "Golutvinskaya sloboda" A.G.
Ogirenko; the space pilot of Russia, the Hero of Russia
G.I.Padalka; rear admiral of the Navy of the Russian Federation of
V.I.Samson; rear-admiral of the Navy of Russia L.D.Chernavin.
In the nearest plans of the Fund is the installation to the
monument to the cruiser "Varyag" in Scotland, near to the place
where the legendary ship had found its last haven. On July, 30th,
2006 there the memorial board to the cruiser was opened. This event
caused a big public resonance and was widely covered in the Russian
and foreign Mass Media. The memorial board to "Varyag" became the
first in the history memorable sign established on the territory of
the Great Britain in honor of citizens of Russia.
