Long-Term Development Strategy for Baikal Airport to be Elaborated by Lufthansa Consulting
Lufthansa Consulting has been contracted by the management of
Baikal Airport in Ulan-Ude, the capital city of Buryatia, to
elaborate in detail a development strategy for the airport for the
next 15 years and to provide consulting support after that
period.
Baikal Airport was purchased by METROPOL Group of Companies in May
2011 in order to develop the transport infrastructure in the
region.
Considering the experience of Lufthansa Consulting, the strategy to
be elaborated by its consulting professionals is expected to
realize the full potential of the airport. The experts will analyze
its market potential, provide a technical assessment and make a
15-year development forecast. Then they will identify the areas for
the further development of the airport, determine ways to achieve
the objectives and recommend additional infrastructure
improvements.
Within a relatively short period of about four months, the airport
management will get a clear understanding of what markets should be
targeted in the medium and long term, what practical steps are
recommended to achieve successful market access, and what costs are
to be expected to ensure such development.
