IFC METROPOL together with SBI Securities (Japan) started to provide the on-line trading services with the Russian shares on the MICEX for Japanese individual investors
IFC METROPOL and SBI Securities signed a number of documents
concerning the realization of the project of providing the
brokerage services to the Japanese investors on the Russian stock
exchange market through the Internet. According to the agreements
the clients of SBI Securities, the member of Japanese stock market,
will be provided with the on-line trading services of the Russian
shares on the MICEX starting from November, 30, 2009. This kind of
services will give clients the opportunity to make transactions
with the shares of 48 largest and well known in Japan companies,
quoted on the MICEX. In prospect the amount of shares that are
traded will be increased according to the requests of the clients.
The investors will be also provided with the necessary information
about the quotes of MICEX index, MICEX 10 index, RTS index and
other important market indicators together with financial
indicators of some companies.
Realization of this project became the next stage of IFC METROPOL
and SBI Holdings partnership, which started in December, 2007 from
the signing of Memorandum of Cooperation. In May 2009 IFC METROPOL
and SBI Holdings signed an agreement concerning the establishment
of the asset management company in order to manage the mutual
investment fund in the Netherlands. The volume of the fund is $ 100
million. The main goal of the fund is to invest into the
undervalued companies and venture projects in Russia.
IFC METROPOL is a pioneer in realization of the co-projects in
on-line trading together with Japanese brokerage companies. For the
first time IFC METROPOL together with the Japanese broker United
World Securities provided the Japanese investors with the
opportunity of the on-line trading with the Russian stocks in
January, 2008.
About SBI Securities
SBI Securities Co., Ltd. was founded in 1999 (the former name -
E-Trade Securities) in Tokyo.
The principal activity of the company is to provide the Japanese
individual investors with on-line trading services with the
securities of Japanese, Chinese, USA and Southern Korean
companies.
In August 2008 SBI Holdings became a sole stockholder of SBI
Securities as a result purchase of shares. SBI Securities is now a
part of SBI Group. SBI Securities occupies a leading position among
the largest on-line brokers in Japan for the last several years.
The total volume of securities trading exceeded $ 47 billion in
October, 2009. The clients of SBI Securities make approximately 7-8
thousand deals on the average every day.
The total amount of clients’ accounts in the company was 1, 92
million, including 133 thousand accounts for foreign securities
trading, in the beginning of November, 2009.
