Beijing-Moscow 2012 Motor Rally Comes to Buryatia
On 12 -15 June 2012, participants in Beijing-Moscow 2012 motor
rally came to Buryatia and its capital city Ulan-Ude. METROPOL
Group of Companies acted as a sponsor of the motor rally in
Buryatia.
Participants in the rally had a chance to get to know the national
traditions of the Republic, make a trip to tourist facilities and
meet with local mass media.
On the first day of their stay in Ulan-Ude, rally
participants learned about tourist opportunities in the Republic of
Buryatia and made a trip to the Ivolginsky datsan. Then they went
to Lake Baikal, where they stayed at the Baikal Riviera hotel
complex owned by METROPOL Group of Companies. The Baikal Riviera is
located in a picturesque woodlands of the Gremyachinsk Village on
the shore of Lake Baikal. The complex offers a developed
infrastructure with everything needed for comfortable and active
recreation.
On the second day, participants and reporters took a tour of
Lake Baikal and attended a presentation of the Baikal Harbor
project for the development of the Baikal lakeside. The Baikal
Harbor will include a tourist and recreation facility, a yacht
club, a year-round mountain ski family resort and a spa resort.
Participants learned about cruise routes on the Atlant steamboat
developed by the Metropol-Express company.
The motor rally is a part of the Year of Russian Tourism in
China designed to develop intercultural relations between the two
countries, promote the exchange of experience between specialists
and increase the awareness of foreign tourists about recreational
opportunities in Russia. Participants in the motor rally will visit
17 regions of Russia and get comprehensive information about
Russia’s tourist potential.
