The Moscow Government ordered the preparation of an Area Planning Project for Construction of METROPOLIA Business District
On August 19, 2010, the Moscow Government issued a decree on the
preparation of the draft plan in the district Yuzhnoportovaya
South-Eastern Administrative District (SEAD) capital. This legal
act has a direct bearing on the METROPOLIA business district
project to be implemented by METROPOL Development on a site with an
area of over twenty one hectares at the intersection of
Volgogradsky Prospect and the Third Transport Ring. According to
this document, developers are invited to submit to the Moscow
Architecture and Urban Development Committee in 2010 and 2011
proposals for inclusion in the planning project for said area
subject to further approval by the Moscow Government.
General Director of METROPOL Development Oleg Korol commented on
the order as follows:”This legal act makes it possible for us to
proceed to the next stage of our work – development of an area
planning project for the METROPOLIA business district. It
will be created on the concept based by the leading Japanese
architectural and engineering company Nikken Sekkei without any
alterations”.
Development of the planning project will include segmentation of
the area into separate sectors and identification of the business
district construction stages and sequence thereof. The document
will take into account all urban infrastructure issues relating
both to the construction site and adjacent territories. During the
2011 draft plan will be finally formed and agreed upon. Following
its approval by the Moscow Government and the drawing up of the
area’s town-planning scheme, METROPOL Development may proceed to
the construction of the business district.
