Buryatia Welcomes Beijing-Moscow Motor Rally
On 13 June 2012, participants of Beijing-Moscow 2012
International Motor Rally that is taking place as part of the Year
of Russian Tourism in China will arrive in Ulan-Ude. They will
spend four days in Buryatia and will learn about the tourist
resources in the republic.
An extensive cultural and tour program awaits the project
participants, including visits to museums and theaters, a tour of
the city, acquaintance with Transbaikal traditions, a trip to the
Ivolginsky datsan and the Spaso-Preobrazhensky monastery, a visit
to the Podlemorye tourist and recreation cluster and a number of
regions of the Republic.
The program also includes a cruise on Lake Baikal aboard the Atlant
steamboat, with a visit to the Baikal Harbor Special Economic Zone,
including the tourist and recreation center, the yacht club, the
year-round mountain ski family resort, and the spa resort.
Participants in the motor rally will get a chance to appreciate the
variety of activities and recreational opportunities on Lake
Baikal.
Accommodation for motor rally participants in Buryatia is arranged
by METROPOL Group of Companies and the Republican Tourism
Agency.
The motor rally started on the Tiananmen Square (China) on 5 July
2012 and is expected to finish on the Red Square in Moscow in
August. The participants in the motor rally are 35 reporters from
reputable Russian and Chinese mass media. Participants will drive
in 18 cars through 16 Russian regions and will visit several cities
in China.
During the Year of Chinese Tourism in Russia in 2013, a motor rally
with Russian-made cars will travel from Moscow to Beijing.
