METROPOL Group of companies and the Under the Star of Hope Charitable Foundation have co-sponsored the Special Cars for Special Children Benefit Car Rally
A unique charity event for disabled children was held in Moscow
on October 4, 2009. The event enabled more 100 children with
special needs (those affected by cerebral palsy, with Dawn’s
syndrome, genetic diseases, as well as the visually and
hearing-impaired) to see the sights of Moscow.
The SPECIAL CARS FOR SPECIAL CHILDREN MINI car rally distinguished
this celebration from all others. The MINI car event enabled
the participating children not only to feel that their social
abilities were equal to those of their healthy peers, but also to
those of the privileged children who ride around the city in
especially comfortable cars – the elite BMWs, Volkswagens and
Chryslers.
The event began at the Muzeon arts Park , where children of Moscow
and Moscow Region together with their parents gathered to partake
in the festive atmosphere of the celebration: life-sized puppets,
face art masters, paint animators, balloons and cheerful music
filled the alleys of the park. The drum group of the Heroes
of Sevastopol Moscow Navy Cadet Corps
demonstrated their skills during the event.as well Following all
this, a convoy of 120 Mini Coopers drove the children and their
parents around the center of Moscow. The participants set
free their balloons at Vorobyovy Gory (Sparrow Hills). The
rally concluded with a gala concert and other open-air festivities
held at the Muzeon arts Park . The guests were entertained by
famous pop groups, magicians and clowns.
This is the first such major event ever held in Russia.
