METROPOL Group provides organizational and financial support for the 70th anniversary celebration of the Faculty of Geography of Lomonosov Moscow State University
The 70th anniversary of the Faculty of Geography of the
Lomonosov Moscow State University will be celebrated in Moscow on
October 22-24. METROPOL Group, which maintains close and friendly
ties with Russia’s oldest geography department, has provided
all-round support for the staging of the University Geography at
the Start of the 21st Century International Conference, as well as
for other events accompanying the jubilee. In particular, METROPOL
helped publish a major work by Professor Yu. Simonov on The History
of Geography at Moscow State University: People and Events.
METROPOL also helped publish a treatise on Geography Sciences
Schools at Moscow State University, and release a DVD of The
Unknown Heyerdahl documentary.
Speaking at a gala meeting held at the Faculty of Geography of the
Lomonosov Moscow State University on October 22, 2008, Dean N. S.
Kasimov, who serves as a Corresponding Member of the Russian
Academy of Sciences, especially highlighted the METROPOL Group’
contribution to the organization and staging of the anniversary
celebrations, expressing his profound personal gratitude to M.
Slipenchuk.
