Delegation of METROPOL Group of Companies took part in the 15th China International Trade and Investment Exhibition.

It was held from 7th to 12th of September of this year in Xiamen (Fujian Province). The purpose of this event, held annually under the aegis of the Ministry of Commerce of China is to promote international investment cooperation and trade. The exhibition aims to attract both investment in China's economy, and on the search for foreign projects that are attractive to Chinese investors.

The exhibition presented the main projects of METROPOL Group of Companies in the field of development of deposits, development, tourism, and development of new technologies. The booth of METROPOL Group of Companies that formed the basis of Russian exposition was visited by over 600 people.
Considerable interest from exhibition participants such as China Baoshan Iron & Steel Co Ltd, Sinosteel Corporation, the Canadian Global Mining Capital Corp. and others, has been shown to mining projects of the Group. A number of representatives of the committees on attracting investment of Chinese cities, Beijing, Xiamen, Yingchao have shown their willingness to establish business relationships through the "METROPOL" in the field of industry (construction, road machinery, fertilizers, construction materials) in the Russian regions.
Within the framework of the investment exhibition the members of the delegation of METROPOL Group of Companies conducted several presentations and took part in several meetings with representatives of Chinese state-owned corporations, such as China Investment Corp, as well as the leadership of major Chinese provinces, which are now increasingly showing their interest in establishing direct contacts with Russian companies.

For example, during a meeting with representatives of Hebei Province there was an exchange of views on possible areas of cooperation of METROPOL Group of Companies with this key Chinese province, which counts today around 70 million people. In particular, the Secretary General of the People's Provincial Government - Mr. Lee Phu - showed great interest for the projects of the Group in the Republic of Buryatia. By his order, negotiations have been initiated on sending tourists from Hebei Province to Lake Baikal and the participation of Chinese companies in the project "Baikal Harbour" as residents of this special economic zone of tourism and vacation type.

This year, the China International Trade and Investment Exhibition was attended by over 600 companies and organizations from more than 120 countries. The organizers noted a growing interest to the exhibition from the Russian regions and individual companies. In addition to METROPOL Group of Companies, the event was also attended by the Russian Consulate General in Guangzhou, the representatives of Khabarovsk region, Moscow, Leningrad, Kaluga, Kirov, Belgorod region, companies from Krasnoyarsk region and other regions of Russia.
