Head of METROPOL Group and Chairman of Eurasian Business Council M. Slipenchuk will take part in events accompanying the summit of CIS heads of state and the EurAsEC summit in Bishkek
On October 10, the heads of state of the Commonwealth of
Independent States (CIS) will open a summit in Bishkek that is due
to discuss a draft of the CIS Economic Development Strategy through
2020. During the summit, leaders of the CIS member-states will also
adopt a document that designates energy as the key sphere of CIS
nations’ cooperation in 2009, and a document on cooperation in
counteracting illegal migration in 2009-2011.
Bishkek will also host a meeting of the EurAsEC Intergovernmental
Council, which will be attended by Russian Federation President D.
Medvedev and the leaders of the other five EurAsEC member-states:
Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The meeting will consider issues concerning the creation of a
customs union and a single economic space between Russia, Belarus
and Kazakhstan within the frameworks of the Community, with the
subsequent ascendance of the other EurAsEC member-states. The
summit’s participants are also due to discuss the draft document of
the Events in 2008-2010 and Subsequent Years Aimed at Implementing
the Priority Lines of EurAsEC Development. They are also due
to discuss topical questions concerning improvements in EurAsEC
operations, and the organization’s budget for 2008 and 2009.
Events accompanying the CIS heads of state and EurAsEC summits will
be attended by Head of METROPOL Group of Companies and Chairman of
Eurasian Business Council M. Slipenchuk, and by Deputy Chairman of
Eurasian Business Council O. Mikhaylenko.
