Delegation of METROPOL Group of companies took part in the 8th International Investment Forum “Sochi – 2009”
The 8th International Investment Forum “Sochi – 2009” was held
on September 17-20, 2009 in the city of Sochi. It was one of
the key economic events on the Russian calendar, offering a major
international venue for discussion between members of the business
community, government institutions and scientists.
The Forum was organized by the Ministry for Economic Development of
the Russian Federation and the Krasnodar Territory (Krasnodarsky
Krai) Administration, with Sberbank of Russia and the Kh. M. Sovmen
Charitable Foundation acting as official partners. The
Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port, Vnesheconombank and the Phoenix
Company served as Golden Sponsors of the event, while acting as
Silver Sponsors were the METROPOL Group of Companies and Universal
Cargo Logistics Holding B.V.
The grand opening of the Forum was held on September 18, with
welcoming addresses to participants read by the following Forum
Organizing Committee members: the Deputy Chairman of the Government
of the Russian Federation Dmitry Kozak, the Minister of Economic
Development of the Russian Federation Elvira Nabiullina, and the
Head of the Administration of Krasnodar Territory Alexander
Tkachyov. The plenary session, entitled Russia – Investment
Strategy, was opened by Russian Prime Minister Vladimir
Putin.
The Forum discussed a broad range of issues and problems which
Russia is facing in the contemporary economic environment.
These issues included the state’s investment policy, the financial
system, infrastructure project and transportation system
development, housing construction, the agroindustrial sector,
public private partnerships, and other fields.
