METROPOL Group of Companies met the ambassador of Switzerland
On September 11, 2011 METROPOL Group of Companies, the three
companies of which are residents of the «Baikal harbor» Special
Economic Zone of tourism and vacation type, organized an official
reception for the delegation from Switzerland headed by Ambassador
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland to Russia Mr.
Walter B. Giger on the site of SEZ (Special Economic Zone) "Turka",
which is currently under construction.
The delegation, which included a counsellor at the Embassy on
tourism and economy, director of the Tourism Institute at the
Graduate School of Economics at Lucerne, a representative of the
Swiss company, and Russian Foreign Ministry representative in
Ulan-Ude, B.B. Dagbain visited the under construction and already
existing infrastructure facilities of the «Baikal harbor» Special
Economic Zone of tourism and vacation type.
Director of the Directorate on international, public and regional
ties of Investment and Financial Company METROPOL B.D. Tsyrenov
told the guests in general about METROPOL Group of Companies,
presented its major investment projects and tourism assets owned by
it. Particular attention was paid to the multifunctional tourist
complex "Baikal Harbour", which will be built by resident companies
within the frameworks of the special economic zone. Of great
interest to foreign guests was the film in French, created on the
basis of the international research expedition "Mirs on Baikal".
Mr. Walter B. Giger noted the special beauty of nature and the lake
itself, drew attention to the attractions such as the Tortoise, and
was delighted by a walk near Baikal.
