Head of METROPOL Group of Companies M. Slipenchuk visited Vietnam as part of Moscow Government delegation
From February 21 to February 26, 2010, the head of METROPOL
Group of Companies, M. Slipenchuk, visited the Socialist Republic
of Vietnam as part of a delegation from the Government of Moscow
led by the first vice-mayor, V.I. Resin.
During the visit, the delegation visited Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh and
conducted meetings with members of the Government of Vietnam, heads
of the National Committees of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh. A wide range
of cooperation issues for Moscow, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh was
discussed, and attention was paid to the question of realizing the
“House of Moscow” cultural and business centers civil-engineering
project in those cities.
In 2008, the Government of Moscow and National Committee of Hanoi
took the decision to allocate sites in Moscow and Hanoi for the
creation of cultural and business centers. In Hanoi, a site 3.3 ha
in area in Tu Liem has been allocated for construction of the
“House of Moscow” cultural and business center. It is a new area of
the Vietnamese capital with prospects which in the near future will
become a major administrative and business centre with the
developed infrastructure. In immediate proximity to the site of
“House of Moscow” a new building of the Vietnamese Ministry of
Foreign Affairs, a skyscraper and congress-center by PetroVietnam
Company, height 102 floors, will be built.
According to the order of the Mayor of Moscow, Yuri Luzhkov, the
authorized company for realization of the project to create the
“House of Moscow” in Hanoi is the Moscow Center of International
Cooperation [MTsMS state unitary enterprise]. The government of
Moscow also took the decision to realize the project together with
private investors.
The total investment in the project is estimated at 80-100 million
US dollars.
The possibility of participation by METROPOL Group of Companies in
the realization of the project is currently being considered.
